Becoming a member
From Northstar Wiki
The Northstar Alliance is a multi-gaming guild that operates in a number of MMORPG's. When you apply for membership you are not applying to be a member of a guild in a specific game, but a member of our wider community, where you will have access to play with the Northstar Alliance in any game we play currently or in the future.
The Northstar Alliance is not a group open "for all who desire". We are and aim to maintain a certain team composition and not everyone simply fits every group. We are all mature minded, usually with an age ranging from 18-45, enjoy sharing and helping in a community and aim to remain a determined and fun loving guild.
Given its focus on social interaction, both online and offline, the Northstar Alliance has a selective membership application process. The chain of events usually starts with the applicant befriending a NsA member either in one of the games we play, or in Real Life (you know that thing that is there when your computer is broken!!). The applicant is then usually directed to a conversation with one of the Council members, where the applicant is given the opportunity to expand on his or her reasons for wanting to join, expectations, real life situation, and other things. Maturity, friendliness, and helpfulness are key factors. We are NOT interested in über, 1337, or d00dz. That is why we have a one-month probation period, during which both the applicant and the guild can feel each other out and see if everything works out, both in-game and on the Northstar Legion website. The best way to get to know the guild is obviously to take part in different guild events to interact with its members. Our application process is not there to prevent people from joining us but to ensure that you fully understand what type of community we are and what we expect from those wishing to join us, so please do not be put off by this process, it is quite painless and we are all quite friendly people.
Real life friends and family are always considered for membership, even if general recruitment is closed as we do not want friends and family to be forced to play apart, however they still need to make a formal application and meet the general requirements to become a member of the Northstar Alliance.
Our application process is fairly consistent across all games we play and we recruit the player sitting at the computer, not the character in the specific game.
The links below follow through to the specific application process for each game. You only have to complete one application to join the guild (typically for the game you are currently playing) although a successful application will give you access to our guild in whatever games we play now and in the future.
Our officers will endeavour to give a swift response to all applications made but as with anything in life things can and do go wrong and if you find that your own application is taking longer than normal (usually a week) then please bump your application but not excessively so as this in itself can have an adverse affect on your application.
