Medic Tactics
The medic is an essential part of any TF2 team... the medic is often used in an offensive role, but can be great defencively..
The medic is equipped with a ranged gun that shoots syringes at the opposition... pretty minimal damage, but can take out scouts etc at range. Their main "gun" is the healing gun, which when activated connects the medic with his heal target and continually heals.
When a medic is healing, the heal targets health is "buffed" to 150% of its normal... This takes a 300HP heavy up to 450... When you stop healing, the 150% gradually reduces back to 100% over about 20 seconds.
NOTE: the heal gun has no ammo :)
When you are healing someone (wether they have taken damage or not.) this will charge your UBER bar. When this reaches 100% you can activate this on any player by targeting them and right clicking. As long as they stay in range of you, both them and yourself will be invulnerable for 15 seconds.
This is the main bonus of a medic, as a UBER heavy & medic can storm a defensive position and take out many defenders with no risk...
When a medic dies any UBER charge is lost...
The medic cannot heal himself.
What to do
Heal, Heal & Heal... when running to the front lines, start healng as many people as you can wether they need it or not to build UBER... try and get uber charge ready ASAP and then team up with a heavy damage dealing class (ideally Heavy or Soldier - althoguh Pyro can work a treat if yuou can get in close enough). When both you and the Damage class are ready, pop the UBER and take it to the enemy.. others should follow you and between you you can shatter even the most robust defence...
2-3 medics teamed with 2-3 heavies/soldiers can destroy even the most maticulously set out defence/sentry turrent installations.
